My goal for this Summer is to focus on a few of less-frequently imaged regions in Cygnus, although I certainly found a lot of inspiration for NGC 6914 on here. This area has it all - Ha everywhere, reflection and dark nebulae. I ended up with five nights of data on this project. The first three nights were just an hour or so each before sunrise while still working on my Virgo mosaic, but the two nights in June were dedicated to this target. The last session was my first use of the Antila Dual band filter with 5nm FWHM for Ha and Oiii. I've bought and sold a few dual band filters over the past year...L enhance, NBZ, but I'm sticking with this one for sure.

I stacked everything in APP, creating an RGB file and an Ha file extracted from the dual band session. The unfiltered data actually showed plenty of Ha on its own, but the Ha mono file really helped bring everything out. Linear processing and stretching were completed in PI, which I've spent a lot of time trying to catch up on... I see a few items to work on, namely control of some of the larger stars when stretching with GHS, but I think I'll put a pin in this for now.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
