Description

SCT 11",f/10, ASI224 MC cooled Astronomik Methan filter (889 +/- 50 nm)

Very not sure of these results, but, anyway here they go.

Total of 10000 frames, at 526 ms shutter speed, near two hours of capture time, using only 2500 of them, with darkframe for noise reduction.

The Gerd Neumann Methan filter, has a wide band, and Piotr Malinski suggested it can enhance the chances for this capture.

After lots of processing, there is what look like two "spikes", which appear to align correctly with the ring plane, as estimated via WinJupos, using the four satellites visible.

This animation shows the superposition of various different processing approaches, showing initally the North polar hood brightening, as expected, in the right position. The "ansae" appear more clearly in the subsequent images, and a Ring nodes online tool simulation image is provided.

Strangely, the supposed "ansae" should have shown as an elipse, not as a line as it appears.

Will try to rotate the camera midcapture, to see if the "rings" rotate accordingly, to exclude an optical false image.
