Description

Eugene "Gene" Shoemaker, a famous astronomer and geologist, was a kind of legend in his field. It was he who developed the research of cosmic impacts and created the methods and techniques that Apollo astronauts used to study the Moon. The scientist himself wished to be a space traveler, but was refused by a small health problem.
Knowing that this was the biggest disappointment of Shoemaker's life, after his death NASA made one of his greatest wishes and sent his ashes to Lunar Prospector in 1998. The remains of the researcher remain there until today, scattered in the dust lunar.
