Description

NGC 300 is a nice spiral between the local group and the Sculptor group.   It's only 6.5 million light-years distant.  It has a diameter of 94K light-years.

At the CAC observing site in southern AZ, NGC 300 only reaches a maximum altitude of 20 degrees above the horizon.   It is a fairly large object, but with corresponding low surface brightness.  As such it's a bit of a tough object for us northern hemisphere observers.

There are two nice small galaxy clusters in the field.   Guessing that the larger of the two is on the order of 150 million light-years distant, and the smaller cluster must be at least 300 million light-years distant (and likely 400+ ?).
