Description

It's hard to believe that I had two nights in a row with clear skies. I decided to image M97

because I've never imaged it with my Orion ED80 refractor and I wanted to see how the

scope would perform on this small, very dim object. Ten years ago when I lived in another

city I couldn't even see M97 at all because of the light pollution. It never ceases to amaze me

that Pierre Mechain discovered this object in 1781 with the equipment available to him at that

time. I may be wrong but logically thinking I would assume my equipment is far superior to

anything available to Messier or Pierre Mechain. As usual I've gotten off track. With all

that said this is my most recent attempt at imaging M97 the Owl Nebula. Enjoy.
