The Iris Nebula, also NGC 7023 and Caldwell 4, is a bright reflection nebula in the constellation Cepheus. NGC 7023 is actually the cluster within the nebula. A reflection nebula is created when light from a bright star shines through dust thus illuminating the dust. Dark dust lanes can also be seen here which are in front of the rest of reflection nebula.
