Description

This Astrobin Debut Object is a nebula located in the constellation of Canis Major at a declination of -22 degrees.  I could find no information on this object, except a few pieces of distance and magnitude data whose values made no sense to me.

This object is an odd one.   It is part of the planetary nebulae catalog named after their discoverer, Czech astronomer Lubos Kohoutek.   But it does not show up in my narrowband filters.  My conclusion is that this very faint object is a reflection nebula, which would be consistent with its color and shape.
