Description

Messier 53

A globular cluster in the constellation of Coma Berenices, discovered by Johann Bode in 1775. It is about 58,000 light-years from Earth.

Dedicated to my friend Joe Guy who we tragically lost today. Globular clusters are often described as jewels in the sky. Joe was a polite, gentle and friendly young man, a real diamond of a person.
