NGC 2174 (ORI) Monkey’s Head Nebula - a human mind filled with monkeys

What was the experience
This DSO was also part of the series of objects for which I collected data over multiple nights in early March. I had done a first processing pass, straightforward HOO, but didn’t really like it. Before being able to process a second pass, I got confronted with 2 serious ‘interrupts’ in my astrophotography focus. One was my Mac suddenly dying, now luckily restored by the local support shop, the other was a medical situation, still hoping for recovery through the local doctor-shop. Although it didn’t seem serious at the moment itself, it did cause some lasting damage. Some called it a ‘lucky escape’, others called it an ‘early warning’. Whatever it was, it’s a trigger for me to reconsider ‘the meaning of life’ and my work/life engagement/balance, like a human with a monkey in my mind. But, I remain positive, the message was probably that my eyes wanted me to ‘see’ something … 🤩
So, finally a second pass of processing … a delirious monkey 🐒

What have I learned from this
An image imitates life, which in turn is influenced by the images we ‘see’. There’s more ‘reflection’ for me in this image, instead of real learning, like a monkey on the verge of consciousness, contemplating the real meaning of life … happy for now 🙉🙈🙊
