Description

Located at 6000 LY, the Tulip Nebula was only discovered by Stewart Sharpless in 1959 (!), despite being one of the brightest nebulae in the Cygnus constellation.

The image consists of 150 HSO images with exposure times of 300 and 420 seconds totaling 14.5 h, recorded over 3 nights in early September. The nights were very hot (> 23 deg.) which meant that the cooling of my cameras was extremely energy intensive and my batteries could not go colder than -10 deg.

RGB stars are based on 30 images at 30 seconds.

The mixture of two optics (TEK 140 and TAK 106) works surprisingly  well thanks to Star Alignment (Thin Plate Splines) from Pixinsight, despite the different focal lengths. The two optics are, however, equipped with two similar cameras (ZWO_6200).

The ZWO AM-5 mount is a little less precise than the TAK EM-200, but the guidance deviation never exceeds 0.8 arc-seconds.

The choice of (false) colors being personal, I favor the pastel tones of the surrounding background nebulae highlighting very strongly the tulip nebula, the center of which is exceptionally rich in structures, in the same way as some sub-regions Ha background.

Comments and critiques welcome.
