Description

NGC6888 taken over evenings from my backyard.  NGC6888 also known as the Crescent Nebula is a bubble in space approximately 25ly across.  At the center of the Nebula is a Wolf-Rayert 136.  WR136 is ejecting one solar mass into space every 10,000.  The strong solar wind generated by the star created the nebula and continues to push it outward.  At some point in the future once WR136 can no longer sustain itself, it will likely end in a Supernova explosion.  NGC6888 is located in the constellation Cygnus approximately 5000ly from earth. This image is taken in HOO.
