Description

A quick (and fairly noisy) shot of giant elliptical galaxy M60 and neighboring spiral galaxy NGC4647 in Virgo. The stars in this photo are all in the Milky Way foreground, EXCEPT for the bright one indicated in NGC4647. That's a supernova discovered by an amateur astronomer on April 16th, and it's outshining the host galaxy 63 million light years away.
