Description

Stayed up to 2:30am this morning capturing the Iris Nebula. I think it's a pretty nebula because it's blue. It's 1,400 light years from Earth and spans over 6 light years wide. The Iris Nebula is a reflection nebula which means it's visible because the central star's light is reflecting off a cloud of dust that is floating in space. The darker regions surrounding the nebula are where the dust blocks the star's light so we can't see through it.
