Description

Hello Astrobin friends !

The weather has been so bad over the last few months in the UK (or at least my bit) I am begining to dispair of getting any of the winter targets

Looking through my various images of Orion I came on the idea of combining the data I have got togther for something to do on the astro front

This picture combines data from three previous sessions on two scopes - Ha and Oiii from the Redcat 51 (250mm) the widefield  , Ha and Oiii from the TS Optics Imagingstar (520mm) for the nebula + some RGB from the nebula as well

I used the start alignment function in Pixinsight to scale and line things up and combined using layer masks in Photoshop

I started by re scaling the 250mm data to be at the same scale as 520mm but this didnt work for various reasons so have "shrunk" the 520 mm data instead

I think I lost some detail in doing this but still better than what i had in the original (which was manually focused)

The colours are largely narrow band but managed to blend in a bit of RGB in the running man and in the core of M42

Any way as I said - something to do !
