Description

Another great target in Orion to be captured with the RASA. I had originally intended for a wider FOV, but I forgot to adjust the framing on the 2nd night. I left NGC  1788 in the middle and lost out a on a small portion of the nebula below the current image. I may come back in the near future and edit the widefield image with less data for comparison.

I added a different nebula enhancement work flow at the end of the the non linear phase to increase the wispy cloud like structure and I am curious what people think? For me, the gray wispy nature and dark nebula really comes a live in the capture and also helps bring out some of the HII signal.

NGC NGC 1788 ( sometimes referred to as the flying bat that I do not see) is a bright reflection nebula North of Rigel in Orion. It is located approximately 1,300 light years from earths and is mainly illuminated by a magnitude 10 stars on the northwest portion nebula.
