Description

This was a test of resolution capability of the 110 GTX scope at F5, and how well the scope can cope with severe light pollution. ZWO camera could not be cooled below +5C because of ice crystals forming on the chip due to high humidity.

Telescope:  Astro-Physics 110 GTX with TCC at F5
Imaging Camera:  ZWO ASI 6200MM Pro, cooled to +5C
Mount:  Astro-Physics Mach2 encoder mount
Filter:   ZWO 50mm Luminance, R, G, B
Software:   MaximDL 6, Adobe Photoshop, Russell Croman NoiseXterminator
Exposure: 50 x 60sec Lum,
                   20 x 60sec R,G,B
Location: Astro-Physics Machesney Park observatory

Sky conditions:  High humidity, very hazy with smoke from Canadian wildfires. Severe light pollution from nearby industrial buildings and shopping malls.
Seeing conditions:  skies were very steady with good seeing. Star sizes between 1.6" and 1.7" FWHM
Notes: Corner vignetting caused by ZWO 50mm mounted filters being undersized for this size chip.
Colors re-aligned and background gradients removed with MaximDL Auto-Flatten
Increased color saturation by 40%
