Description

My "mission" of taking pictures of all the "named" star visible from my sky and my observatory position continues...
Only for this image I was forced to reduce the number of frames stacked to 40.
So... 40x20 sec frames stacked

ASI 071mc pro
Takahashi FC100N
UvIr cut filter
60x20sec integration
gain 300
Bortle 9
UNGUIDED frames

This time I shoot three stars at the same time: ATLAS, PLEIONE, ALCYONE (part of the Pleiadi's asterism)
The image was obtained with a 10cm apo refractor with a focal length of 1000 mm. from the sky of Milan, Bortle 9. Due to the high light pollution and the desire to operate without a guide scope I had to take photographs at high gain (300) and 20s of integration each. The camera used, a ZWO ASI 071 pro, is optimized to operate at a gain of 94 and at much higher values it creates a vertical banding effect which may be visible stretching the image. As usual, no significant post processing was carried out except to insert the writing and slightly adjust the dominant sky background. This makes the color of the star quite realistic, as I'm doing in other photos of this series. As always, to give objective feedback to the images, the field of view has a pre-set value which is identical for all the images in this series and equal to 50'x50'. Te visibile SPIKES are REAL and obtained with a cross made with a 3mm. adhesive tape in front of the lens. Some peculiar data regarding the star are indicated at the bottom of image.

To avoid condensation problems on sensor the camera temperature is limited to 0°C
