Description

The M27, also known as the Dumbbell Nebula, is a planetary nebula located in the constellation Vulpecula. It was first discovered by Charles Messier in 1764 and is located approximately 1,360 light-years away from Earth. The nebula has a distinctive dumbbell shape, which is thought to be the result of its central star shedding its outer layers and creating a dense shell of gas and dust around it. The M27 nebula is one of the brightest and most famous planetary nebulae in the sky, making it a popular target for amateur astronomers and astrophotographers alike.
