Description

ASI1600MC-C, 26x120", 75 Gain/10 OFfset (12degC, hot) on VC200L

My image is lacking is color, except for a fairly bright "red" dot above and right of the central star.

At one the MOSI museum in Tampa, FL, there is a challenge: "find the red dot in this tube containing thousands of white and yellow dots" (where the dots are small styrafoam balls.

The image is kind of like that: find the red dot star

NGC6572 is actually a planetary nebula, though here it appears like a bright star. It is estimated to be ~3500 light years away, and represents what is generally known as the "last breath" of a star as it loses its outer shell.

RevB: The 2nd Revision is not really a revision, but is based on all new data from a different night (7/20/2017) with some adjustments (Optolong UV/IR filter, ASI dew heater, and using -10degC lights). This revision is based on 33x120 using 2x2 binning.

What is more interesting to me here is the two small galaxies near the center of the top left quadrant.
