Description

Well the RGBL 1st light with the Canon 200L setup at F/4 does show that a little more of a stop down might be good for stars. Blue especially wanted to bloat. Image was processed in PI with a 2x drizzle but reduced to about 0.56 before making this jpeg. I have not figured a way to productively use the Ha with the RGBL because the Ha stars are so tiny in comparison. I guess a wide field HSO might be the thing to do. Shot with occasional passing clouds and haze unguided but used ACP's unguided dither. This little lens is sure fun to use! At any rate the new focus motor install seems rock solid.

Description: This is the exact same data with the difference that the new PixInsight 1.8.5 release has an amazing new PhotometricColorCalibration tool. It is almost automatic.. Servers are searched and a plate solve done and the ratios are set in the linear RGB!! I started from my raw linear RGB, entered the image info.. focal length, pixel size (/2 as I had a2x drizzle), RA and DEC. Drag the triangle over and that is that. Check it out!!
