Description

The southwest shores of Oceanus Procellarum feature structures that make my eyes happy, also the closeness to the edge of the Lunar disk makes all of those "almost full Moon" shots really unique. A lot of tonal variety yields a very dynamic view of our Cosmic Buddy.

As a bonus I am trying to show, what lunar lucky imaging really means and instead of only posting my stack I also post THE BEST FRAME, a single one, slightly processed. Believe it or not, the single frame is almost ready, a slight touch of wavelets and it's done. You barely notice noise and it is with slightly elevated gain coz of the band restriction (R).

30 ms, gain 40, R filter

Rev A: 1% of 10k frames, stack

Rev B: one single best frame, "Kid, that's one in a million"
