Description

My first attempt at an ISS pass over the Sun. I had 2 passes available this past week, one even going directly over my local observatory, but both were subject to a 3-day period of overcast skies and rain. Unfortunately, that meant that the only sunspots had disappeared over the limb by the time today's pass arrived.

Unfortunately, no sunspots means focusing is difficult at best, leaving me with only the edge of the Sun to use as reference. I got close on this one, close enough to notice some surface features on the fading edge, but still out of focus enough to blur the station.

The coloration was added after the event. My processing technique for the sun involves turning the data black and white, sharpening it, and then adding color back in to look more natural (thought the dark red background is simply artistic licence).
