Description

NGC6820 surrounds the open cluster NGC6823 in Vulpecula. The stars are estimated at no more than two million years old and have carved out a dramatic set of dust pillars that populate the nebula.

The OIII signal on this target was very weak, SII lesser so but still weak as well. It took a large effort to bring out these signals. In the end the image suffers a bit on pixel peeping (some mottling and chrominance artifacts) but I'm pleased with the colors and structure.
