Description

This image of M51 Whirlpool Galaxy was taken remotely from University of Arizona Mt. Lemmon Sky Center Steward Observatory with SSON Sierrastars.com. This was my first opportunity to use a 32 inch scope Ever, and had concerns if 4 images one each at 180 seconds would be enough, or too much. The scope uses a 6 position wheel . I choose the Astrodon Gen 2 Red, green, blue, and luminance.

I was very pleased with the results from such small imaging time. I stretched out the image as much as possible in MaximDL5. Not enough photons were gathered to display the core of M51 at this time. In the future will probably do 300 seconds per sub at 2 each and see what that will yield
