Description

IC 2391 is called "Omicron Velorum Cluster" because its brightest star is Omicron Velorum, all of which can be seen with the naked eye in the Constellation Vela. Moreover it is in 964 that the cluster was described for the first time by the Persian Astronomer Al Sufi.

It is a very young cluster, hence the bluish color. It is wide enough, spanning 50 minutes of arc. That's why I did not need to push the Tamron to its maximum, 500 mm having enough to get a good overview.

The stars of the cluster are highlighted thanks to the spikes generated by StarSpikes.
