Description

To keep the noise levels down for this image of NGC 2841 in Ursa Major, I reduced my gain setting to 250 and increased my exposure time to 30 seconds. The result was a smoother background in only 7 and a half hours of total exposure time. I used an Apertura 6" f4 imaging Newtonian, a Starizona Nexus focal reducer/coma corrector, a Celestron AVX mount, and a ZWO 224MC non cooled color camera. No autoguiding was employed or necessary due to the very short sub frames. The image was captured using Sharpcap Pro's amazing Live Stacking program as well as Deep Sky Stacker to combine the individual stacks. I used Photoshop CS5 for processing this image and I hope that you like it.
