Description

I wanted to photograph this cluster because, in addition that it is magnificent, it is little imaged, especially in a field making appear clouds of gas. I made Ha to bring out these clouds.

The bluish color of most stars tells us that it is a very young cluster, about 36 million years old. It was discovered by Nicolas-Louis de Lacaille, in 1751, during one of his travels in South Africa.
