Description

The Crescent Nebula (also known as NGC 6888, Caldwell 27) is an emission nebula in the constellation Cygnus, about 5000 light-years away from Earth.

Using APT to image the Crescent Nebula tonight. Using the Altair Hypercam 183C at 11.0 gain for 300 second exposures you can see the faint Crescent Nebula in the subs. Tonight is super clear with excellent transparency so I'm hoping for great results of this image. Will be posting tomorrow during the day.

Here is the result of the Crescent Nebula from last night with APT and PHD2 guiding. At only 2.5 hrs I am impressed with the amount of detail this has produced. Again last nights observing and imaging conditions were excellent and I am suspecting it has a lot to do with that.
