Description

Followed the excellent tutorial found here:
http://www.arciereceleste.it/tutorial-pixinsight/cat-tutorial-eng/75-narrowband-color-composition-eng

Rev A: 1st attempt with SH2-170 Something went amiss! Oh well, try again.
Rev B: Got a better grip of the tutorial and made better star masks etc. Still found it hard to remove my large stars as it left the unsightly grey blobs everywhere. Did a harsh de-noise of the SII and OIII data. Happier with the result of my second attempt.
Rev C: Tried my old Tadpole data. Getting better.

Getting better.

C

Improving still lots to get right, can see some light down that tunnel :-)

D

Another try at tone mapping. I like the Tulip but not how the background has turned out, given there's 21 hours of data in it.

E

Another attempt at tone mapping the Tulip. Got the Bow shock wave to appear at the right edge. It's caused by a known black hole.

F

Had another go at tonemapping. Still struggling to remove the 5 larger stars, but did better at clone stamping them out and a large blur afterwards. The blurring of the noisy SII and OIII has helped produce a smoother background than previous efforts.
