Perhaps the Eagle Nebula is one of those targets that needs no introduction. The Hubble "Pillars of Creation" image made this area instantly recognizable, even to those not skilled in the art. But, it is still one of my more favorite targets and thought it was a suitable match as a first-light image for a new set of narrowband filters. This image was shot through 6nm Ha, OIII, and SII Astronomik filters that now sit happily in my filter wheel. I tinkered with this image a lot until I collected enough data to be satisfied. The filters performed very well and seem to be "keepers".
To show off the diffuse nebulosity in the area, I decided on a starless presentation. Revision C is a starry version. Which do you prefer?
Enjoy!
