This is first light for my ST80 imager-Finder/Guider on my CG-5 mount. Lots of gusty wind tonight, and some clouds. I chose this subject because I knew it would be easy to find and it would be framed properly with the field of view I could get with this rig. It's amazing how light this setup is. Guiding is not performing any better than with the heavy rig, but that may be due to the wind. On the other hand, with this much wind I would have no hope of getting a decent image with my big, heavy AT8IN. CCD at 9 °C (no chiller still). I had to insert a very cheap diagonal mirror to reach focus, so I need to look into getting the proper extender so I don't have to do that.

Scope: ST80+Antares 0.5x telereducer

Filter: Baader Planetarium UHC-S

Mount: CG-5 (Synta motors)

Guiding: 9x50 Finder/Guider + DSI Ic + PHD 1.14.0

Camera: DSI IIc (no chiller, T = 9 °C)

Acquisition: Nebulosity 3.1.2, no dither

Exposure: 32x300 s

Stacking: Neb 3, bad pixel map, bias included, normalize first, trans+rot align, 1.5 SD stack.

Processing: StarTools 1.3 Wipe, Develop, Contrast, Sharp, Deconvolute, Track, Magic:Shrink, Magic:Tighten, Life:Moderate, Mirror. CS6 Astronomy Tools increase star color, AstroFrame, increase saturation.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
