Sky & Telescope: Observe Changes on Mars

=========================================

I've just started processing around 40 mins of data I grabbed for Mars last night, and have noticed what looks like an area of the current dust storm extending around the equator in a meandering line. It's apparent in three separate images I've checked so far, so I don't think it's an artefact.

Is this really an off-shoot of the dust storm, or something else? How would I check/confirm? (Still pretty new to all this!)

Image was taken at UT 19:18, 2018-06-13 @ approx. 1°18'N 103°54'E

EDIT:
Turns out this is the dust storm making its way through Valles Marineris.

Thanks to Sean Walker from Sky & Telescope (via Cloudy Nights) for identifying what I'd captured!

EDIT 2:
Revision E is an image taken later in the morning, with the feature of interest rotated further into view. Processing was improved to manage the Gibbs artefact better.

If I'm not mistaken, Pavonis Mons and Ascraeus Mons are also made visible by the dust lane running between them (after exiting Valles Marineris?).
