Description

This object is an open cluster located 4000 light years away in the constellation of Cygnus. It was discovered by Caroline Herschel in 1783. It is believed to consist of over 100 stars.

The cluster is a nice mix of bright blue and orange stars, but it does not significantly stand out from the background. Stephen James O'Meara labelled this the Frigate Bird Cluster and I have orientated the image so that the bird is at the center with its wings open, spread left and right. But, alas, it takes quite an imagination to see it without his drawing.
