Description

I decided before I went outside that I was going to image IC 5146. I could not begin imaging until almost Midnight due to clouds. When I began imaging I thought the sky was clear but actually it was not. There were high thin clouds that were hard to see but my camera sensor had no trouble
capturing them. I fought with clouds most of the night. I'm surprised that I even got an image considering what I had to work with. The bright stars don't have much trouble punching through the thin clouds but dim nebulosity does have a problem. I'm beginning to wonder if I'm ever going to have a Moonless and completely cloudless night again. Anyway please enjoy my most recent image of IC 5146.

I was not pleased with my original image so I reprocessed the image trying to get something that I'm happier with. I like this image better but I still can't say that I'm really pleased with it. I'm just going to have to image this object again on a clear dark night and hope that I get better data to work with.

C

I did a little reprocessing on this image. I mainly worked on the background and star field.
