Description

In this picture, we can see the Sharpless 2-1 Reflection Nebula located in the constellation of Scorpio.

Dust-whirls inhabit the space between the stars, this powder is usually invisible, although it slightly attenuates the light of the farthest stars, this dust can be revealed by reflecting the light of bright and close stars.

Because the bright stars tend to be blue, and the dust reflects the blue light more easily than the red, the resulting reflection nebula usually appears blue.
