Description

I was curious to see if the dust storm in Mars is subsiding. My main rig is setup for wide field DSO imaging so I dragged out an old (1990's) Meade LX50 10'' SCT and peeked at Mars. This scope is not setup for imaging (Moving mirror focus and no fine focus control) but I think I managed to get it to reasonable focus.

The details are definitely more than what i saw before. This is with ASI224MC + TV2.5x shot at 352 UTC on Aug 8. Processed with AS2! and Registax

Equipment:

Meade LX50 10'' SCT
