Description

This image is made from the same data as my previous image (M16 imaged in SHO). It was a fun little experiment to see how much usable resolution I could squeeze out of my little 80mm refractor imaging at 382mm fl.

One of the most iconic Hubble images is the "Pillars of Creation". This region in the core of the Eagle Nebula shows dark pillars of dust where newborn stars have been formed within. While I can't pull off the resolution and details of Hubble, it is very exciting to "tribute" the iconic image from data collected in my backyard.
