Description

First efforts in processing mono/narrowband images. Still experimenting, so I captured from my Bortle-7 backyard instead of my regular dark-sky site. This was taken over two nights. I feel like it's not too bad, but would have a lot less noise, especially in the Oxygen (blue) if shot under dark skies.

Xi Persei (Menkib), the bright star in the upper right, is intrinsically some 12,700 times brighter than our sun and classified as a blue giant. The California Nebula's fluorescence is due to its prodigious radiation.
