Description

This is has been my white whale.. Every year I try to shoot this area in broadband.. and due to its position (Towards Austin's light bubble and with trees), I get hardly 3 hours on it and the weather has been pretty poor with almost no clear nights.

In additional to the position, I just dont have the FOV to shoot this area . This year, I started making mosaic (like I seem to do every year) and ended up with a 5 panel mosaic. The L channel is reasonable but the RGB has been a struggle to acquire.. Bad gradients, high clouds etc. I was hoping to clean it up with more data .. but I am doing this from end of October and weather isnt cooperating to continue more on this. So here it is.

Total integration is about 20 hours (L and RGB for all 5 panels)

Main objective was to go as deep as I can and not worry about HDR for the core and mainly get the dust around the main nebulae and I am quite happy on how it turned out. If only the color data was better.

The final image is like 8500x2700 and I resized it down to 4000 wide.
