A comeback for me. After being on a long (almost 4 years) hiatus from this wonderful hobby, I've gathered my willpower to arm myself with equipment and once again start venturing into the night with a sole intention of finding out for myself if there really is something out there, which we normally have no way of registering with our eyes.
Elephant's Trunk was high up in Spanish autumn sky, so I went for it. With all new equipment, mostly forgotten experience from before and a myriad of small and big pieces of knowledge to acquire once again. New telescope paired to a new mount with motorised focuser and filter wheel with lots of trial and error concerning spacing in the image train.
This was supposed to be a test project but when I looked at the final result I thought to myself: "Well it doesn't look too bad..."
Hence I'm uploading an image to astrobin for the first time.
This is around 3.5 hours in each of the channels (Ha, OIII, SII). Combined using classic Hubble pallet with eventual transformation to a bicolour.
