Description

This hydrogen alpha full disk solar image showing AR2736 on the upper right side was taken using a highly portable set-up built around a Borg 45ED refractor. It is a double-stacked image taken through a Coronado Solarmax 40 and a Solar Spectrum modified T-scanner. The best 250/500 frames were stacked in Autostakkert 2 and final processing in Photoshop CS5. Camera was a PointGrey Grasshopper 3. I used a video with some drift in it to let AutoStakkert smooth out some vertical shadows (a flat frame would be better) and de-interlace to improve the overall smoothing of the sharpened image. Both are new techniques for me.
