Springtime in Northern NM often brings excellent sky conditions. I started an M27 compilation with the Seestar in late April and early May using the S50's internal LP filter and RGB resulting in just over 13 hrs of total integration so far.
Siril was used for fits sequence conversion, registration, resampling, and stacking. Pixinsight's SPCC accurately renders the star colors in the field , however, I took liberty with the saturation of the core region and applied histogram treatments in PI blending both RGB and LP filtered versions. This was an effort to reveal the wispy expanse of the nebula in the dimmer areas while faithfully rendering the mag 13.8 central star. This resulted in a slightly different color balance.
There are several Mira type variable stars in this field . V0571 or the "Goldilocks" variable is missing in this image, however DQ Vul and V0418 Vul are captured. I plan to periodically gather data as long as M27 is favorable in an effort to recover V0571 and maybe create a partial lightcurve.This variable's period is 231+/- 10d
