Description

The Eagle Nebula was my last image taken from Del Rio, TX over Labor Day this year. As with my other photos from Del Rio, the dogs and I had a few visitors this evening. We saw a family of raccoons (parents and children) and a male and female fox. These visits were much less eventful than the others I’ve written about which was a nice surprise (and a relief!). As we watched these animal families come in and then leave I couldn’t help but think about how nice it is to have a loving family to spend time with.

I chose the Eagle Nebula as my final target because I felt it was only appropriate to give one of my favorite targets of the summer a proper send-off. Also (for those of you who have been following my posts for a while) I had previously images this one in the spring and written about an article I read which states that the Pillars might quite possibly be eroded/obliterated in~1,000 years due to a nearby supernova. Thus I figured I’d do a quick check and make sure they’re still there ;)
