Description

In this shot I tried to capture Messier 35 and its distant companion NGC 2158 in the same frame.
NGC 2158 is about 16,200 light-years away and over a billion years old.
It was understandably thought to be a globular cluster in the past, but its age makes identification as an open cluster clear.
Messier 35 is about 2800 light-years away and only 100 million years old.
