Description

I had given up on this data as I could never correct the terrible gradient in the mosaic overlap using DBE. I decided to go back to this data with the new GradientCorrection tool in PI. With some fine tuning of the settings I was able to make it work and was happy with the result.

Pleiades (M45), also known as The Seven Sisters, is an open star cluster containing middle-aged, hot B-type stars in the north-west of the constellation Taurus. M45 is ~444 light years away from Earth.

This 2 panel mosaic image  was captured in a Queen Creek (Arizona) Bortle 7/8 backyard using a Skywatcher Esprit 150ED telescope. The telescope is mounted on a 10Micron GM2000 HPS II mount. The camera is a ZWO ASI 2600MC Pro using an Astrodon OSC UV/IR Cut filter. It was captured on 2023-01-24. The images were stacked/processed in Pixinsight.
