Description

Here's the best I was able to manage of C/2022 E3. Had to sneak out when the clouds finally cleared and then that was only because there were 20mph winds. Most of my images ended up being trash thanks to the wind, this was the best I could make with what (somewhat) usable data I had left, so please forgive the wonky stars. I am also just testing out my new CMOS camera. This is my first time imaging a comet through a camera so it was very exciting seeing it come up on the laptop screen. I have a few different exposures at different gains, both testing out the result of different exposures and gains on the image and also trying shorter exposures to increase my chance of getting stable shots during short breaks in the wind. Overall, happy to have caught this comet at all before it heads back out to the outer solar system (and interstellar space maybe???), and to keep playing with my new camera!
