Camera: Moravian C3-61000 Pro, 2x2 binned at capture
Observatory: Heaven's Mirror, Chile

Exposures:

Embedded in a swarm of stars and gas, M 104 hides much of its detail. Some of the small background galaxies show more structure than M 104. Wikipedia says that the massive dust ring suggests an elliptical galaxy. I am unsure what this means, as most elliptical galaxies lack this feature. Also, the extended bloat is often called a "central bulge." That term is not commonly associated with elliptical galaxies either. But, "what's in a name?" For that matter, what's in a galactic classification?
