Description

This object is a spiral galaxy alongside some distant "friends" in the constellation of Virgo at a declination of +7 degrees.

NGC 5599 is the large spiral galaxy, located 300 million light years away. It spans 1.5 arc-minutes in our apparent view, which corresponds to an actual diameter of 125,000 light years. I could not find any information on this object.

All 9 PGC galaxies in this image are about 700 million light years away. This looks like a distant galaxy cluster to me, but I could not find any designation for it.
