Description

Discovered in 2011 by French astro-imager Nicolas Outters, the Giant Squid (Ou4) is an emission nebula of doubly ionized oyxgen atoms within the Flying Bat Nebula (Sh2-129) some 2,300 light-years away and is nearly 50 light-years across.
