Description

Bright objects like this are easier to image from suburbia, with short exposures placing less demands on the mount.
Omega Centaurus is the brightest and largest globular cluster in our skies, 15,800 light years away and packing 10 milion stars into a ball 150 light years across. This is a test image of three hours, after cleaning the observatory optics, and repairing the shutter mechanism on the dome.
